I loved watching Lance Mackey in the Iditarod and I painted this piece the following year after he won on March 13, 2007. He was the 13th starter and ran with 13 dogs from his champion Yukon Quest team. In his 6th Iditarod, Lance chose #13 because both his father and his older brother won the Iditarod in their 6th attempts, wearing #13!
Lora Duguay has been creative since childhood, but when her life was affected by Post Polio Syndrome, her hobby became her full time career. Her artistic creativity has been focused on the cultural beauty of indigenous tribes, nature, and iconography. Mediums include oil, pastels, colored pencil, scratchboard and photography. Her art has been exhibited in various museums and galleries throughout the United States. She is a member of The Association of Miniature Artists.
